UN perpetuals can be corrected via the crown
Mar 20, 2017,21:53 PM
Because the quickset function that advances days/months/years doesn't move the day of the week. So all one needs to do come March 2100 ois to advance one day forward using the quickset function.
Similarly, all perpetual calendar mechanisms that do not display the day of the week, or ones in which the day of the week can be set independently, can be corrected in the same way.
Perpetual mechanisms that display the day of the week and where everything works in sync (such as Kurt Klaus perpetuals) will have to go to the watchmaker to adjust the day of the week indicator one day backwards....
I wonder how many of our watches will experience this adjustment, either at home or at the workshop...

...I was not aware of perpetuals that account for the 400-year period. Will look into that more when I have some time. I just wonder for those that do need to go back to the watchmakers, what happens if the watchmaker is no longer around? Anyway, that is ...
