Ulysse Nardin Sonata: 10 years of love!
I cannot believe... 10 years of love for that watch. 10 years that I got it. One of the watches I remember all the details of the way I got it, the day, the AD call, what I did this day and so on.
I long time hesitated to know which Ulysse Nardin I prefer, the Freak or the Sonata. My answer is the Sonata.
The perfect travel watch, with its easy to set GMT, Date and Alarm.
The Queen of all Alarm watches, which is the main purpose of this watch, with its alarm sounding like a minute repeater.
And a look which is still very modern.
And I will tell you a secret. I am a bit superstitious... Each time I have something challenging and tough to do, I wear a special watch. And this one is one of them.
One of my keepers, definitely.

But one of my dream watches, along with the ALS Datograph, Lange 1, and FPJ CMB. One day!

I would also imagine this to be so.
And for me personally, legibility is key. The freak takes getting used to, even if it is really cool.
Aside Trilogy Set this one along side...
Freak and Chronometer 150th makes another Trilogy set I know there are many striking UN still to consider but that would make third trilogy set In summum UN rocks...at leat it rocked Cheers D

Lucky for you, both are available for frequent testing ;-) One thing about the Sonata, these early versions with the leaf hands have always been best. Or at least, the most charming and the essence of the original design.
Well described my friend. Cannot agree more that the Sonata is the best alarm and travel watch. I am concerned about the Freaks out there that have been taken down a notch by your selection of the Sonata over the Freak.
And why is the Sonata a she? WhY not a he and hence the king of alarm watches? I too remember much of my experience surrounding my introduction to the Sonata and subservient interactions that lead to my acquisition. Sweet memories that are reinforced ever...
