I need help identifying this handsome piece

Hi,

After my grandfathers passing the family was going through his things and throwing out anything deemed garbage.  I rifled through a small box filled with broken watches and bits of string and picked out a handsome piece of machinery.  It was a Ulysse Nardin Automatic Swiss Made watch sans wrist straps or hand movement for that matter.  Ignorant of the brand but a respector of all things Swiss I did a little research and learned of the prowess of the respected watch maker.

Could anyone help me identify this piece?  The era, perhaps model number?  It seems to resemble the UN Chronometer 36000 somewhat but it has the day of the week in addition to the day of the month.  I can't find any info about it or any pictures of it online. The watch face seems rather metallic and reflective and is quite pretty but the scuffed glass won't allow the pictures to do it justice.  It reads 'Ulysse Nardin' with raised metallic logo, 'Automatic' underneath the middle and 'Swiss Made' in tiny script at the very bottom.  The body of the watch is not magnetic, perhaps SS?  The UN logo is inscribed on the backplate.  The majority of the components inside are a brass colour and the markings are 'N 11 NB' and '25 Jewels' along with 'Ulysse Nardin' and 'Swiss'.

I believe I see the reason for non-movement in a damaged hair spring.  I took the piece to a horologist who quoted me at just over $300 to restore the watch to its former glory.

Any information as to the identity and particulars of this watch would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I think UN experts will give you a better answer than I soon. In the meantime, I quickly found that on Google. May be it could help. Best wishes Alkiro

Thanks for your response. They do look exactly alike aside from the blue watch face. Thanks again.

You're welcome

I did a little research and it agrees with your reasoning. Heres a quote I found on one website. "" I telephoned my watchmaker, who sourced the information from Paul Hubbard, somewhat an authority on ETA calibers, who quotes: The ETA 2837 is a 36.000 vph ...
