The Ludlow without bare-naked ladies.

Based on HSTE's post from about a month ago; and since I could not get a room at short notice at my go-to hotel in Manhattan, I decided to stay at the Ludlow this past weekend. What a charming place! Its looks, from the inside, are very traditional, although the guests made up a varied range of styles and ages. A few pictures from the Hotel-and, yes, there were no models this weekend on the neighboring rooftops.

Here I was trying to replicate that "animal hoof" aesthetic without the animal hoof. Kind of creeps me out.

Also visited the World Trade Center Museum-this was the first time I had been back there since 9/21/2001. I went there then to see my old neighborhood-I lived 5 blocks north of the Towers when I went to law school.

As you can see-no models.

No models at night either. I think.

Cool Padj and glad to read that you liked the Ludlow. I still use the picture below, taken very early in the morning...

...from the roof-top of the Ludlow as a screen saver. I think that the 9/11 museum is very well and impressively done. I had been living in Battery Park (380 Rector Place) back in 1991 and my daily walk to the office (222 Broadway) was through the old WTC...

The Museum was very impressive.

I appreciated how even-handed everything was handled, given the constraints of space. It was very moving for me since I knew that neighborhood so intimately. And the hotel is now a go-to for me. Glad you posted about it!

Very much so.

And a relaxing place, even when the bar got crowded later at night. Great place.

You will enjoy it.

I've stayed there a couple times now. Love the rooms, the high ceilings and the baths, and the lounge is great.

Lower east side location is fantastic as well. For a similar feel the Bowery Hotel is also great.

I think I know what you mean

but it didn't bother me. And certainly the noise did not outweigh the charm of the place. Check for a PM.
