Gregg Allman, the rock & blues pioneer and composer of "Midnight Rider," "Melissa," and "Whipping Post" has died at age 69. I was listening to their version of "Jessica" just a few days ago... Always a big fan of the music...

from the "Eat a Peach" album (1972)... I have the 5:09 version on my music player, off the "Allman Brothers 1969-1979" compilation disk...

Glad I saw Gregg about a year ago.

Still had a great voice and put on a good show. The great music will live on.
