Just for the pleasure of sharing a few shots...

... taken last week end of my c1964 ref 5513.

Gilt, gloss, underline and double T<25 inscription on dial add to the charm of this watch.

I specially love how the main gilt inscriptions have turned to an orange tint.

It has been a long time since I photographed this watch last time as it had been resting in the bank vault for months.

I wish you'll like watch and pictures!

Cheers! Abel

And in that case I understand fully the rotation and the sometimes long period without a particular watch. Sad story about your 5513, very kind gift from your wife about your 1680, and you made well to get again a nice 5513 gilt. In a way it is a reincarn...

But you bring up a question for me. How common is it for collectors to keep their collection locked away in a safety deposit box? Do you only keep certain items there? Your entire collection?

Hello TortugaNick! Well... it depends on individuals needs or attitude, the size of collection, the place where you live, and many other factors. To have all or part...

You make some good points.

I recognize the qualities of beauty, reliability, thinness of these Rolex vintages, but this is definitely not for me

I would be afraid that it would fall to pieces...however I find it very appealing, so my hat off for you.

... much caution searching for a correct specimen, and of course you can´t put a vintage watch like this one to the use of a modern Submariner (or any other modern diiving watch). But, though I wouldn´t take my old 5513 to diving or even to a pool for a s...

What a charming 5513 gilt underline with the mystery twist double T<25 in white. I love it.
