Fits better here than with Blancpain

Hopefully, this change serves both Roger Dubuis and Blancpain well. Since Roger D. morphed into a Geneva-inflected Richard Mille, the brand has been ripe for a partnership along these lines. Lamborghini is strident, polarizing, exclusive, and sybaritic in a benign sense. That's modern Dubuis precisely. I would love to see more styling and complication crossovers inspired by Lamborghini. Also this deal feels like more a a complete thought with a more logical development path than the Pirelli deal from January. A Pirelli model line would have lacked enough thematic source material to expand over years, but Pirelli rubber and colors will feel natural alongside collections driven by Lambo inspiration.

At the same time, the 2009-2017 links between Blancpain and Lambo never resonated as sincere, and that's even after the Lambo-driven L-Evolution line was reworked to appear more attractive and more tangibly linked to the cars. If Blancpain were an auto marque, it would be something like FACEL or 1960s Jensen and not a flamboyant supercar source. Hopefully, the removal of its corporate mandate leads to a refocusing on modern elegance (as opposed to the neo-classical language of stablemate Breguet). A great start to the new era at Blancpain would be a revisiting of the long neglected and moribund Leman line.

Best,
Tim

With many of your thoughts...in discussions with both Lamborghini friends and RD contacts, as well as having handled all three editions of the all carbon pieces from RD, the intent and first executions are indeed inspirational and collaborative ... Much a...

A lot more fitting than the prior Blancpain partnership if you ask me. Thanks for the live photos Alec! Cheers, Anthony
