tough choice

I have a smaller wrist, so I need to stick with a thinner model.  Of course, the 5712 is the james bond watch of the nautilus line, sporty or elegant, and oh so stunning.  people always complain about maintaining a moon face, but then i ask why not ask scatola del tempo for help with a nice winder (you can certainly afford one if you can own a patek).  The chrono is gorgeous in detail, lovely up close, but simply too huge in thickness for my 6.5 inch wrist.  The annual calender almost borders the same fate for the same reason, but it's flawless design makes me still dream about it on the steel bracelet.  If and when it finally arrives in rose gold, I think many more people will hop on the 5726 band wagon and stop caring about how busy the dial is.

I personally bought a 5711a, not only because of its robust nature (and I like having a nice watch on vacation), but also its simplicity.  I can't wear it often with my work, so I need to reset it nearly every time (and no, I didn't get the winder.  yet..., not that this model needs one).  However, due to its excellent value retention, I am planning on taking my time to decide whether I stay simple or move on to the 5712 (due to it's thin case, oh it's so damn beautiful), in steel.

I came from a midsize aquanaut to this substantial size dial, and I have to say that the thickness is what really keeps it a viable option on a little guy like me.  But there is no mistaking (or replicating, might I add) a complicated patek model.

Long story short, please enjoy whichever model you choose in excellent health, and please show us the pics!

My first Nautilus was 3710 that I bought in 2006 because I could not get 3712. Nice watch. Later I managed to acquire 3712, 5726 and finally 5980. I must admit that 5726 and 5980 do not turn me on. Both watches are too thick and too heavy. When Gerald Gen...

THE Nautilus is the 3700, the original, for me. If I got to go for a modern, I would go for the epitome of the modern Nautilus, the 5980. I had the 5712, and sold it to fund the 5070. A very nice watch, but I got tired of setting the moonphase each time I...

I narrow down to 3700 and 5980, My criteria is the movement inside. 3700: Legendary JLC cal 920 5980: In house chrono I'm just not sure about the thickness of the 5980. The 3700 is just a matter finding one that was "abuse" Regard Tyler
