I think it works perfectly...

even though, the first one is not what I would wear personally. On the other hand the second one is great.
The Nato subject is something I read since quite a long time and was able to see many pictures of traditional watches with these straps on.
It is always interesting to see some news being mocked or gently teased at first and then being appreciated after a priod of time.
It is the same with some novelties (like the Nautilus 40th anniversary, 5650P, 5235 and so on) that people might criticize very rapidely and finally come to appreciate as time goes by.
I noticed in the past that it is indeed not to the taste of everyone. However, as someone who likes the casual/dressy, sporty/classy contrasts (or any thing in that spirit), I came from "well, I don't know..." to "yes, I like them and could be wearing one".
Of course, as long as the color or pattern is well chosen. However, even in that field, today's designs allow combining pees with squares with lines etc.... 10 years ago it wouldn't have been possible (you know, only 2 colors max, not mixing shapes etc...)
This trend comes from Italy a lot, where colors have always been used in clothings, as well as from fashion creators who have made things that didn't work before, work today.
There are many online accounts (tumbler etc...) that are showing this in a very tasteful way. This watchmaking traditional brand is beloved by many of us appreciating some specific characteristics which remain quite conservative sometimes. This goes with a view about elegance etc...
This is why such different approaches are very difficult to bring up front. Everyting we judge is compared to our own standards and the more it is away from that and less easy it is to accept and understand it. Time will tell I guess.
Thus, having such a Calatrava with a Nato is very nice for me, more for summer time maybe. I must say that I wouldn't see every Patek with a Nato but only a few of them.
Welcome on our forum, I'm sure you'll have a nice time here (even if on such subjects you'll awake a little more "jokes" :p but don't worry they mean good)
Congratulations and thanks for sharing
Best, Mark
