A wis day in the big apple...

Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting with a group of very nice PuristS in New York City. Meeting point was a very nice watch store in midtown and had a great time handling various wonderful pieces. A few that has been on my mind since but trying to resist mentally still! From there we proceeded to visit another very nice watch store to continue handling and discussing various time pieces. It could be felt in the air that something different was going on in the city. Lots of foot traffic in the watch stores and lots of talk around the extraordinary event taking place over 10 days.

We then proceeded to an early dinner at a wonderful Italian restaurant before walking down the street to the Grand Exhibition. The whole package was quite impressive as you walked towards the entrance. Blue lights lighting up the building and beautiful ladies at the door. Once inside the grand size was mind blowing. This exhibition was not sparing on details. I will not go into details regarding the rooms as there has already been an amazing amount of coverage posted here. But I will say that the people representing the brand did an outstanding job at selling the brand. The friendly attitude and professional approach despite the long days was quite impressive. I personally learned a great deal by having the opportunity to speak with many of the artisans and watchmakers present. Towards the event I also had the pleasure of exchanging a few words with Mr Larry Pettinelli and appreciated the overall generosity displayed by the brand and its people at the Grand Exhibition.

I was also very pleased to meet with many fellow PuristS for the first time. A group of us ended up catching a few late night cold ones to exchange thoughts and of course decorate the table top with time pieces. Below a few selected photos from the day. To those who also attended I sincerely hope you all enjoyed this day as much as I did.

Walking up to the entry:

Inside the Grand Exhibition with some fellow WIS. Can you name the four pieces? Clue is one is "ordinary" and three special editions... wink

At a bar afterwards... can you name the references and match to their PuristS owners?

I missed the chance to see it live but your Fox 5960/1A is good enough in the wild. Nice meeting you and others. If I may add some more photos... Rgds Raymond ...

Thanks Raymond! The 5230 is definitely a beautiful watch, I see people starting to wear it now more and more. I love to see the watches and more particularly the people observing the watchmaker's bench and NYC's night life Best, Mark

Great to to meet you as well Raymond!

The GTGs are definitely a very interesting part of our hobby and I'm glad when people can meet and spend a nice time together. The Exhibition seems indeed to be very nicely managed by Patek's team with much patience and warm welcome from what I read here ...

Thanks Mark

It was great to meet you and so many other PuristS. I won't "guess" the references and owners. Might be cheating.

It was a great pleasure to have met you!
