Are there any tax guys here? I assume the majority of the purchase price is seen as a charitable donation and therefore deductable? Obviously rules change country by country but I'm just curious if anyone has any insight.

At least in the US, yes you can deduct what you paid OVER the "cash value" in goods received

 By: cazalea : November 11th, 2017-08:21
As for the value of a one-off ti Patek perpetual minute repeater chrono moon phase- that might be a million or two at least. I'm sure the buyer has a good tax man (hopefully not in Panama)

not a tax man but the charitable donation deduction rules are not as convoluted in US as other parts of our crazy tax code

 By: Joepny : November 11th, 2017-08:42
typically max limit at 50% of your adjusted gross income. but it can drop as low as 20%. and typically only for US based/founded/operated charity organizations. What would be cool to find out one day is where the buyers are from? I suspect a few buyers ar...

It's interesting. Not sure who here might be buying a $6.2m PP or a $1m FP Journe but..

 By: Jay (Eire) : November 11th, 2017-12:36
..if one was getting a decent tax deduction on the Kari or the Urwerk x LF then those prices might be attractive to some. And Alkiro, apologies for taking this off the topic of the beauty of the watch itself. Thank guy for posting.

Two questions. First, can you describe the strap? It almost appears cloth-like in your photos. Second, I expected a different sound given the chosen case material. Do you know if this is the natural "chime" of the Ti or if PP manufactured an alternate res...

Well, the strap is a blue Corduba which matches the hand guillochรฉ โ€œcarbonโ€ pattern very well. Itโ€™s firmly modern like the case material (titanium) in my opinion

 By: Alkiro1 : November 11th, 2017-10:01
Regarding the chime, Iโ€™m not sure that this version was the definitive one. I know that you could opt for a solid case back too which should have an โ€œimpactโ€ on the chime. Unfortunately, I have no more info ๐Ÿ˜• Best wishes Alkiro

My pleasure my friend

Thanks [nt]
