The Tintin series that we all love were more than just children's comics: they are now considered a journalistic record of 20th century events and Geroges Remi's own views on these world affairs. Here's a photograph of Tintin creator at work, wearing an O...

One of the most famous pictures ...

I was actually wondering what watch Herge wears after watching the excellent documentary "Tintin et Moi". Then I found this picture. If I was Belgian I'd be proud of Herge's achievements!

What good eyes you have...............

...........I'm not sure I would have spotted that. I used to have one of the SM calendars but sold it to fund something else - sometimes I regret that but hey ho, that's watch collecting for you. Cheers Andrew

One issue: photo owner dates it to 1939...

Though I am fairly certain it's an Omega Seamaster Calendar (due to the fairly visible omega logo, lug style, and date at six shape) the author dates the photo to 1939. The fat lug seamasters don't make an appearance until the late 1940s. Any Tintinologis...

And the Date at "6"...

...didn't debut until 1952. I think the credit is mistaken, gatorcpa

Yes I am a Tintinologist-Omegamaniac !!

Looks very much of that same period. Saw this scene of a workshop in the documentary "Tintin et Moi". Thanks Paul! Nice to know a little of Mr Remi's tastes in watches.
