An encounter with a Minerva 13.20 Chronograph.

40 mm white gold case. Superb dial, and what about the movement? We were surprised by the new 1858 Tachymeter bi colored movement ( Cal 16. 29 ) but it seems that some 16 / 18 years before, Minerva already made something like that. A great pleasure to see...
That's very cool.

I would enjoy encountering some of these models myself!
Still a Frey era product...

Or an early Gnutti? Be that as it may, a spectacular watch - would love to encounter one live at some point! Thank you so much for finding and sharing this!
Wow! That's a marvel from Minerva!

The dial color, texture, layout, printing. The case size, shape, curves. The movement's finishing and visual impact. The perfect movement /caseback proportion. Simply marvelous!
That's a beauty!

I'm sensing from the comments that this watch or one similar is in the works. Are my 61 year old senses still keen or am I an old hound on the wrong scent? Thanks, M4
Truly beautiful

I remember at auction a few years back, something like 20 of these in different metals and dials surfaced. Oh, how I regret not buying 1 (or 2 or 3).
If YG is acceptable...

There is one available on Chrono from a Polish dealer - brand new, IIRC...
thanks for sharing that!

I saw that one on chrono and have actually seen that reference in person -- the yellow Minerva used back then was very very bright, almost too yellow (if that makes any sense). But thanks for suggesting it!
Gladly :)

And I know what you mean - it looks extremely intense even on pictures
Oh yeah bi Color movements already existed in Minerva

thanks for the reminder Nico This Minerva is gorgeous !!! I have a feeling the calibre 13.21 will be used more for smaller wrists On the other hand I wish MB comes up with some new Minerva movements - chrono or time only etc for the more accessible non Vi...
Very interesting answer, Robin. Do we know how many chronograph calibers there were, at Minerva?

16. 29, 13. 21, 17. 29, 19.9, 13.21, 13.20 and? I hear your point, and Montblanc should keep in mind collectors' point of view and interest. I would love to see: A Triple Calendar ( or better, QP ) Chronograph, and even better, a Rattrapante. Without anyt...
Understood :)

Let\'s see what 2017 brings, then... Knowing you, you have already conveyed your opinions to the odd person of influence in the organisation, so keeping fingers crossed
Stunning piece

I\'ve owned a number of Minervas over the years and loved them all. Still have two but this quickens the heart like my Lange 1815 Chronograph in w.g. Yes please!
Oeps yes
