While there is not a big difference between 30 and 50 it is still not a good policy to change the number after the announcement. Making a piece limited without an announced number is a solution like the Seconde Centrale but does lead to a mystery

that can bother someone. Releasing the product to judge the response and then making a number is another way but still a bit shady. Announcing a number that is larger than planned but not producing all the pieces is another way to do it as has happened in some brands - that may make the collector actually happier if that was to happen.
As someone said to me. Don't worry about making the right decision, make a decision and make it right.

Double Duometre Delight!!
By: Conkers : December 3rd, 2016-03:49
Which one do you prefer?? After the twin shots I post some more pictures of the Boutique Edition as it is super hot off the workbench! Love them both - hard to choose, one on each arm for perfect symmetry!...
+1 for the WG.

For some strange reason I see a smiling face in the dial of the RG example. And not in a good way J
You got it!

I was typing my reply below, and then saw your update which you posted a few seconds earlier - you got it spot on that's what was bugging me!
The left one - white gold
By: Mr Glass : December 3rd, 2016-04:28
Both are great looking, For me the white gold one works better. The semi-skelotinzed dial is cool, but something about it does not sit perfectly. As always - pictures rarely tell the whole story, I will have to check for myself
My answer is on my wrist: white gold, black dial

The new boutique model is handsome, but the choice is complicated by the presence of both colored gold (not everyone loves it in a large case size) and an open dial. Either could be a polarizing feature, but the combination of the two endears this new off...
Thanks for the comments everyone.

The WG is of course a classic, but I think the RG/Grey does work very well in the flesh. I have a huge number of white metal watches and only two RG at present, so that is also a nice element for me.
Both are beauties.

I'd take the WG by a whisker, but the RG definitely has its own appeal as well.
Thank you everyone.

I will take some daylight shots of the grey today. Haven\'t quite captured it too well yet.
Here we go.

iPhone only sadly. ...
Thank you!

This pair will keep my lust for JLC sated until my most outrageous JLC comes back from a service. Roger
A new favourite.

I like the omission of arabic numerals to make the grey dial more minimal in comparison to previous versions. I wonder how a grey dial would look on a white metal version? I understand there is no plan to make the Duometre in anything other than precious ...
You are killing me guys!

If tantalum is released then I will have to add another one to the collection but I would say limited prospect for that. Besides I am still waiting for them to deliver the world timer with mechanical DST correction! They received the challenge 3 weeks ago...
The perfect iteration.

Still holding out for some steel but I know its a non runner.
Tough call side by side
By: MichaelC : December 5th, 2016-06:26
I think I prefer the new one. The cutouts have never bothered me, and truthfully I don't see a smiling face when I look at the watch. The pairing of grey and gold is really superb. Congrats, Conkers!
Thank you everyone.....

.......for the nice comments. Maybe we will see a few more on here in due course.
Jaeger just confirmed not as exclusive as first thought.
By: Conkers : December 12th, 2016-02:03
Actually 50 pieces not 30 on this particular model. Not the end of the world of course but I think manufacturers need to avoid doing this where possible. Some collectors are highly sensitive to production numbers. This i guess is the danger when limited e...
At least......

........they were honest enough to tell me!
Breaking news!
By: Conkers : December 13th, 2016-02:34
Following my feedback the mgmt of JLC have agreed to limit the chrono version to 30 pieces. A very nice gesture from them. They really do listen to their customers! Nico did you intervene??!! Ha!
