Possibly the last brand NEW Dualmatic!

I can't believe my luck.. after almost 3 years of searching high and low for a brand new Dualmatic, I was able to find one at an authorized dealer in a small town in Europe.   Brand new.  Not like new, but actually new.  Never sold before, and from an Authorized Dealer, which means that I will get the factory 2 year warranty starting now.  Wow!

A year ago I had lost all hope of finding one, so I bought a MC Geographic, and while traveling in London, I stopped by the JLC Boutique to have it regulated.  To my surprise, they said that they had a new Dualmatic in stock, but at a price of 6,000 pounds, so having just bought my Geographic, I decided to pass...  and I regretted it very soon after.  As much as I liked my Geo, it was not the best option as a "traveling GMT".  It was great to find out the time in another city, but was not easy to change the local time as I traveled, and was not able to find out quickly if my "home time" was day or night.   For that reason I sold it a few months later.

The more I searched for the "perfect"  traveling watch, the more I kept thinking about the elusive and seemingly unattainable Dualmatic.   And of course, Daniel's (expwmbat) beautiful pics of his Dualmatic were simply a mental torture! wink

Just last week I had decided that since I wanted a JLC with the Autotractor movement and a true traveler function, I would get a Reverso Squadra Hometime.  And since I was in LA, I stopped by the Boutique in Rodeo Drive to buy it.   To my -lucky- surprise, they did not have the SS version with the black dial that I wanted.   I was disappointed.

But my luck would turn quickly, and just the next day I found my Grail.  I contacted the dealer, and closed the deal over the phone, and at a great price.

Now the wait begins.  The watch was shipped today and should arrive sometime next week.

Of course, I will make sure to post pics as soon as I get it in my hands.   Now, if I could just fast forward this week...!

By the way, I just ordered a beautiful gray croc suede strap with red stitching just like Daniel's that should arrive about the same time as the watch.

Cheers!

finding a NOS one is not an easy thing, since it was discontinued in 2008, if I am not wrong. But, from time to time, some pop up in the boutiques or at the ADs... I found a Reverso Geographique, Brand New, at a JLC Boutique, a few years ago,, as well as ...

Congrats!
