one was auctioned in Sweden on Saturday

I guess this is the one that was in auction in Sweden on Saturday (was featured on Hodinkee). I think it went for a high price...Euro 12 k or so.

I do like he case, especially the way the lugs flow seamlessly from the case (reminds me of 565 Patek). I also love the shape of the hands, a perfect mix between baton and sword (hint of sword). Great watch! Congrats to new owner

When you least expect it... You run into one...!

Last weekend I saw this rare bird: The Geophysic De Luxe. Since this is something you don't see everyday I wanted to share it here with you! Unfortunately I could not bring the watch home with me... But I suspect a certain gentleman here in the forum will...

Wow- now that is sharp.

Outstanding share! No sooner do we have a discussion of the relative aesthetic merits of JLC's 478BWSbr and the related VC cal. 1008, but now we have a JLC that rivals the exterior design of Vacheron for elegance and presence. The De Luxe is a no-apologie...

Only on Purists! :)

Thank you, Tim. Yes, the De Luxe 2985 is very much more elegant than the tool watch brother E 168. Even if I am a big JLC fan and a huge Geophysic fan, I must confess that the case of the De Luxe can't compare with the sophistication of the Chronometre Ro...

Well, I have two feelings with the Deluxe.

I'm not a big fan, due to the shape of the case, the fact that it is made in yellow gold, that it lost its amagnetic virtues, and its characteristic look. It is certainly a nice Watch, but less charismatic than the " normal " Geophysic. That being said......

Yes and no...

Yes, I share most of your feeling about this one. BUT, this was the even more rare Rose Gold version, not YG... The RG is no better than the YG when it comes to amagnetic... Best Blomman

;) Because even if I had the possibility, I wouldn't go for it.

I much prefer trying to get a rose gold E 168. And hunt another stainless steel Geophysic. I am a weird " collector ". :) Best, Nicolas

Not go for it - easy for you ....

Because of the arguments you just stated. Not easy for me, since the same arguments already checked off... Best, my wiered friend Blomman ...

I never could see one in the flesh!

Thanks for the rare pictures, my friend. Best, Nicolas

First time for me as well.

Great pictures of great watches. Personally I much prefer the E 168, it is more lively in my opinion and reflects or provides more of the "chronometre" spirit than the De Luxe. This caliber 478BWSbr (if I am not mistaken) is superb. Cheers Francois

Agree, Francois - the E 168 is more ....

Desireble IMO. But for a crazy guy like me.... It is killing me not to have been able to get the De Luxe version as well.........! :( Best Blomman
