Torsti Laine 1817 (1st series). Reworked Unitas but with wonderfully worked hand-Engraved dial and movement plates. Stunning work imho. ...

Wow!

Thanks for showing us this beauty. I actually never heard about the watch, nor the brand. Any more info to share on this watch and the company? Cheers, Daniel

Cheers!

Yes definite similarities to struthers (but not quite as elaborate). I’m off to London this week, but can do more pics once I’m back home in Australia. Cheers

Super sweet looking!

Congrats on your new acquisition. Would love to see a side view showing the lug angles. Love the narrow bezel and how the movement fills the case. Thanks for sharing. John

Congrats! I love my Laine piece

I did a writeup here on Purists some time back. I worked with Laine to custom make it and he was a true gentleman. A great rising star in the indie world in my mind. His pieces must be seen in person to be properly appreciated. Congrats on this lovely one...

Thanks, alphabeta81!

Truth Be told, your write-up was partly the inspiration for this acquisition. So I totally blame you!!! 😜😀

Thanks Tim!

Looking forward to meeting you. (Though dreading the 20+ hour flight from Melbourne 😀) Safe travels to you !
