 By: sidneyc : June 24th, 2011-04:39
It is my 1000th post on this forum!! Hooray!! I have been lazy and have been clocking up my posts very slowly but I'm finally here! Thanks to all the friends here that have kept me company throughout the horological journey! The insights, the wisdom that ...

Excellent dial!

 By: nickd : June 24th, 2011-05:05
That's by far my favourite of all the Habring dials I've seen (and the rest of the watch isn't bad either ). Enjoy it. nick

Thanks for your nice words Nick!

 By: sidneyc : June 24th, 2011-15:24
The Habrings metal dials are also mesmerising! I hope to add one of those in the future..

Thanks Alex! It was Maria and Richard that offered the open plate...

 By: sidneyc : June 24th, 2011-15:29
I had no idea it could be done, but during our email exchange, they offered this as an alternative as the newer A09 movement had this plate, and they just had to modify it for the A07 based movement for my watch. Love working with them!

Excellent 1000th post

 By: grigo : June 24th, 2011-06:03
The entire watch is stupendous. Wear in good health and I agree it is a keeper. Best regards, George

Thank you George!!

Congrats! Gorgeous piece, and I like how you chose the engraved balance cock. Also, the starkly contrasting dial is fantastic. Well done! Aren't Maria and Richard great to work with? They are just the nicest (and most patient) people. I'm so happy for you...

Thank YOU Daos!!

 By: expwmbat : June 24th, 2011-08:03
I love the design you came up with--the contrast is amazing, and I bet it positively sparkles in person. I know there's has been some negative discussion in the past about the finishing on Habring movements, but while they aren't decorated like many very ...

 By: Darren : June 24th, 2011-11:09
Never ceases to amaze me how many different looks Richard and Maria are able to create - and no duds among the lot! I love the front and back of this one. I'm sure you'll enjoy it for many years to come. Darren

You are right Darren!

From all the Habring2 reveals here, it really shows the depth of talent of Maria and Richard, and the flexibility of their atelier to customise watches in however many ways! The amazing thing is that even after very different customisations, the strong Ha...

Blues hands

 By: ingmar : June 24th, 2011-12:52
Are the Habring watches' hands chemically or heat blued? I have one with silver markers/hands and blue second but just wondered. Great looking watch and movement.

Thank you! Interesting question about the blued hands...

 By: sidneyc : June 24th, 2011-15:47
.. from very close look it seems a bit like heated blue but I am not sure.. I will check with Maria and Richard!

I've got the word from Maria and Richard...

 By: sidneyc : June 25th, 2011-04:22
.. that the blued hands are indeed thermal (heated) blued! Please check my other post on this thread "More info from Habrings" for more details Thanks for raising this interesting question about the blued hands!

I understand why you are glad !

 By: foversta : June 24th, 2011-12:56
The simplicity of the watch enhances its beauty. Congrats! Fx

Thank you FX!

 By: sidneyc : June 24th, 2011-15:50
Indeed, I really like the simplicity of this dial. Pretty amazing how both contrast-brushed metal dials and plain lacquer dials can work equally well with the Habrings!

Thumbs up for your 1000th post, and congrats on the Habring

 By: Hororgasm : June 24th, 2011-13:55
To the next 1000' maybe 10000. And look forward to more shots of your habring, esp if you highlight or zoom in on the jumping mechanism in the back case. Cheers, Horo

Thank you Horo, your wish is my command....

I love the open top plate and I admit I'm a sucker for the Habrings' white lacquer dials. There is a cleaness and artful simplicity to them that works so well -- and, as you will find out, attract attention. I happened to be wearing my white face COS toni...

I love your lacquer dial COS too!

As well as the lacquer calender! Even though it's hard to NOT get one of their metallic dials! You have the best of both worlds Unfortunately the lacquer dial is quite difficult to capture in photos as it is a lot more lively in real life sometimes almost...

congratulations Sidney, a great looking watch with excellent movement

 By: G99 : June 25th, 2011-13:40
i think the overall look of the dial is very good. you cant beat black on white for a classic look. sadly i couldnt afford a Habring dead second and have a preference for vintage watches so, as you know, i have just bought a Doxa/Chezard 115 dead second. ...

Interesting question about the dead seconds Graham...

 By: sidneyc : June 25th, 2011-16:44
Firstly, thank you so much for the compliment! It's always comforting to hear words of approval from other Purists I did make a gamble for black on white as I've decided on a lacquer dial first but searching for enamel dial designs, most of them are paint...

Wow, you have similar taste to mine. Surprised!

 By: KIH : June 26th, 2011-06:15
Yours is obviously 42mm version while mine is 36mm and no PR. But the color is similar, hahaha. On mine, index and hour/minute hands are silver while the Breguet numeral is black and the date window is at 6. And the second hand is BLUE. Quite interesting ...

Hey brother, that is gorgeous!!
