Peter Speake-Marin presents Resilence

 By: Hororgasm : October 15th, 2012-18:10
Resilience – a timepiece of eternal beauty Combining a beautiful, oven-fired enamel dial that will keep its youthful freshness for centuries with the iconic design of the Speake-Marin Piccadilly case, Resilience is an enduring creation that will well and ...

The enamel dial...

...makes this piece even more desirable! :-) Exciting news from PSM! Cheers, Daos

i can't wait to see it live.

 By: Hororgasm : October 18th, 2012-11:28
might be one more PSM for me collection, holding back on the enamel dial Patek till further notice :)- best, Horo

I'd take Peter's watches over a Patek any day of the week...

...and twice on Sunday! :-) Cheers, Daos

For every taste

The collection allows us to choose nearly exactly the one we want. Between the Marin 1 I love, the HMS or the Serpent Calendar ... This one is maybe the most "elegant" and the dial must be something, I'm really looking forward to see this one in the metal...

A question of taste, I beg to differ, politely.

Hi Mark, Just a caveat, to make sure I am not misinterpreted: I really admire Speake Marin work. Yes, I am truly impressed by the variety of his work, but simply do not like the heaviness of the case, lugs and hands of his watches. I check PSM work regula...

The case for the Resilience is thinner at 12mm

 By: Hororgasm : October 16th, 2012-09:53
And being a owner of three PSMs watches, from stainless steel to gold, I can say that the stainless steel version is actually quite light by my own standards. I will ask Peter what is the weight of the resilience and revert, but I would be very surprised ...

Thanks for that precision, I did not know

 By: ztirual : October 16th, 2012-14:15
At first glance, it looked like the same.... Best. Z'

you are most welcome.

 By: Hororgasm : October 18th, 2012-11:27
do give the watch a try, 38mm x 12mm seems very reasonable by today's standards. best, Horo

+1

I wear the PSM Piccadilly 38mm in gold on a daily basis. It's much more comfortable on the wrist than a thick watch like it would make you think. Although the 13.5mm thickness sounds intimidating - it actually fit nicely under the shirt cuff and is not to...

and now in 12mm thick case featuring the Eros movement

 By: Hororgasm : October 18th, 2012-11:34
thanks for chiming in best, Horo

Indeed, the new case design wears considerably thinner..

 By: cep55 : October 18th, 2012-10:41
I previously owned a PSM Serpent Calendar, and although I am accustomed to wearing larger watches (e.g., 44mm Panerai), the sheer vertical design of the PSM case felt and looked a bit too thick on my 6.3" wrist. So I was delighted to see the launch of the...

Thank you Christina for chiming in, and glad to see you here :)

if you have time, do do a post, long or short, on your choice of PSM, and congrats on acquiring your piece. being a fellow PSM owner, I am always interested to know if there is any commonality in our decision making. best, Horo ...

I meant in SM's collection oc

By: Mark in Paris : October 16th, 2012-14:45
Hi Z', In fact I was talking about different choices among the SM brand itself. Different interpretations based on the brand's well-known case shape (dial color, dial mareial, hands, decoration, caliber etc ...). But as many Indies, the design is original...

Agree with Zirtual

love the revisited case would love to see live shots of the pics ,the movement specification is a seduction... however im wondering if other numerals option other than roman are possible to execute? Faisal

My experience is Peter can be quite accommodative.

Having own one of Peter's piece in enamel dial i cant help but want the "new" model to at least have something different on the dial. As much as i like the new movement and the "affordable" price it presents, the dial is just too similar to what i have no...

would you "attest" to the enamel dial from PSM(or his supplier)

 By: Hororgasm : October 18th, 2012-11:36
is the enamel dial in your current PSM totally defect proof? any comparison with other makes featuring enamel dials as well? best, Horo

good question

 By: amerix : October 19th, 2012-10:38
The name of the supplier should also be included.

Yes.

 By: Pulli : October 20th, 2012-11:10
Peter's acceptance of enamel dial quality in the Workshop is about 4 in 10.

Hi Horo

 By: takashi78 : October 18th, 2012-22:38
I havent seen enough enamel dials to know what kinda "defects" to look for. My initial understanding was enamel dials are suppose to be silky smooth? Might be wrong. My PSM dial when i look closely even without a loupe does have some "rough" parts. But VE...

Thanks for your comments.

Will try to find out more from PSM about his enamel dials soon and report. Best, Horo

Thanks Horo!

I had been eying on this... Nice, very nice. Would love to see how good the enamel dial is - some brands' enamel varies piece by piece and had to hand pick by actually seeing it or asking to do it again - and I hope Resilience be all near perfect! Ken

We are in same boat...

 By: Hororgasm : October 24th, 2012-14:26
I am quite "motivated", for lack if a better definition, by this piece :)- Gotta see it live...enamel surfaces can be accurately captured graphically, and must be "felt" by the naked eye. Best, Horo

this is a beautiful piece made better by its simplicity

I would love to own one of Peters watches, not just because i like the watches, but because it would be great to wear a watch made by an all round nice guy whose influence is in the vintage/antique rather than new technological advancements which may or m...

hope to see it live during SalonQP...can you make London?
