IMHO, there is no such thing as an "entry level" minute repeater.
It's like your doctor claiming that your surgical instrument is "nearly sterile" or someone is "almost a virgin" or your lottery number is "out by 1 digit" . They either ARE or they are NOT 
Although I have no minute repeaters and have argued with Thomas Mao, over the years, about the 'need' vs 'want' for one (I disagree with both), I recognise that if you must have one, there must be no 2nd best.....no compromise.
Better to buy 2nd hand or get a pocket watch version or save a little longer to get the ONE. Otherwise, you may as well get a Shellman or Citizen or Seiko digitised ding-dong soundbox.....they have "great" sounds
