Horological Meandering

Does it exist, a watch which ticks all the boxes for everybody ? I love a Patek 5070 but I realize others don't like it because of the size, or too small movement, ... Probably everybody will like the Datograpgh movement, but I honestly don't like the dia... 

I think Speedmaster and Submariner and two strong examples. GMT Master could be up there as well. For the vast majority of 'normal' people a modern Rolex could very well be a very nice 'one and only' watch. Pieces like the Submariner, GMT, Datejust are lu...

I'll be heretical and say I don't care for the Speedy, in any iteration. But the AP Jumbo...yes! Thinking about getting 98% of people to agree on anything is probably futile though.

I'm interested. Do you actually dislike it or just wouldn't wear it? Would you agree that it is a good looking watch that is well designed and functional?

Don't know what else to say. And winding it is a chore, at least in my experience. So to answer you, I don't dislike it; I just don't find it interesting.

However, I think for me it's how often I see it that kills it for me, The watch is great, the history is great. It passed all those tests and it's still being used! But whenever I walk down the street in the Sydney's central business district I see one :/...

Not sure why, I think I've just seen it too much. At least the Speedmaster still does EVA. It's a piece of gear, you can't argue with that.

You did say a watch that everybody likes rather than a watch that everybody loves so I have played it safe with the new 1815 chronograph which has swept me off my feet even though I am not normally fond of black dial watches. And if this is too adventurou...

Patek Calatrava like watch. Cartier is also a watch brand that a lot of people know. A lot.
