I had good luck taking my grandfather's 39j Gyromatic (from the mid-1960s) to a local master watchmaker. If sending the watch back to GP for repair would be too expensive, I would recommend looking around for a local master watchmaker to take a look at yours. The watchmaker was also able to get parts for my black-face Gyromatic from the early 50s, although it took him a while to locate them. I'm sure there are craftspeople as resourceful and well trained in your area as well.
