2 similar pieces in function...

Otherwise, night and day different (which is also the functional difference, a day/night indicator on the Senator). I'll find time to more closely compare these 2....

The Chopard confuses me.

It has none of the elements that I typically find desirable - Arabic numerals, balanced dial, sweep seconds hand - yet I like it a lot. Some day I'll figure it out M4

You prove the exception

M4, The exception that proves the rule! If we could distil the elements of Love that easily, there would be no Art. If we could précis the fundament of Relativity, there would be no Science. Glory in excelsis.... MTF

I on the other hand love asymmetry and a bit of "weirdness"

Over the years I have bought some pieces I really thought I would love. And then did not. This one, I really liked in photos, enough to take the chance. And it has paid off, I would not part with it now. Definitely a polarizing design, and perhaps one mor...

So very different in spite of the similar functionality...

That I\'m a great fan of the LUC 8HF you know but your GO is a real charmer, too. The two would make for an interesting two watch collection

I'll delve into more details at some point

I thoroughly enjoy wearing both, even if at very different times.

Beauty and the Beast

Glashutte being the beauty here....

You know that I love the G.O. but the Chopard got my attention.

 By: stromer : January 5th, 2017-23:59
I got the feeling in the recent two years that I should learn about Chopard. Especially about the more technical side of the brand. Looking forward to read what you have to say about the 8Hz Chronometer. Best, Martin

One down....599,999 to go

 By: MTF : January 6th, 2017-07:34
Martin, Finally, we won one over. Now, we have 599,999 to go I think that in the last 2 years, Chopard has slotted together most of the building bocks that they have spent 20 years to get to. In-house Manufacture, not only for the high-end L.U.C line but ...

I do know it Martin. Keep an eye on Chopard

We are here for our shared passion of high end watchmaking. Not for names. Heck, if you would have told me 15 years ago that two of my favorite pieces would be made by a jewelry company (Chopard) and a pen company (Montblanc) you would have caught my atte...

Chopard is a watch that does not....

get enough deserved love from collectors (in my opinion), putting it beside GO is a risky business but somehow it worked for you MichaelC. Congratulations enjoy both in good health. Best Regards Edward

Thanks Edward. A bit risky indeed...

Classic VS. Contemporary

 By: kolosstt : January 6th, 2017-05:04
I vote for Contemporary as this Chopard from the Tech line offers many delights. E.g. I am thinking of the black casing and a material that is less known from Chopard. The movement is another important development. Thanks for this black and white comparis...

Some people did not get the memorandum

 By: MTF : January 6th, 2017-07:50
Black & White comparison? Here are mostly Chopard watches at a couple of formal dinners. Mostly Chopard but some people did not get the Memo London Hong Kong ...

To compare the movements will be real interesting

Each apropos to its design, materials, mantra. Thanks, kolosstt.
