BVLGARI Sparkles With A Brand New Takashimaya Store

Oct 24, 2012,05:28 AM

October 2012, SINGAPORE – BVLGARI, the Italian luxury maison re-opens its Takashimaya store after a major renovation since August. The new store boasts an impressive 246 sq metres on one entire floor and is in excess of 57 sq metres from its previous store split over two floors. This concept illustrates a long homogeneous façade with a strong and new contemporary design.

The façade has been designed by replicating a squared pattern made by satiny metal leaves with the alternation of three different "nuance" of gold which creates a very peculiar effect that is helped by the singular leaf shape. The background is made of mirrored metal sheet and is used to reflect the light spread by the stars installed in the middle of each leaf module. The stars are shaped in the same pattern as the ones in the Via Condotti store to recall the Roman flagship as well as Bulgari’s heritage. They are lighted up by a small LED that makes the "star skin" of the façade glow with light.

The glass windows have been alternated with the star skin panels, creating frames where the jewellery collections are perfectly set to animate the façade with sophisticated creativity.

The Veneziana flooring that decorates the main entrance of the shop is done by an ancient handmade technique used for the external terraces in the XIX century, but known since the Greek and Roman periods. The onyx star, which is linked to the first Bulgari shop in Via Condotti, lies in the middle of the flooring and has the same shape as the external LED star in the store. The wooden flooring comprises bronzed brass inserts and is used as a background for the jewellery and accessories counters. The walls are covered with an alternation of star skin and encausto finishing, while the private room has a new open concept with metal sliding panels that create seclusion from the main store when required.

To emphasize the importance of the entrance, an eight-shaped counter is surmounted by an eight-shaped glass chandelier. This lucky number symbolizes infinity and is one of Bulgari’s themes particularly linked with the Asian culture. The Giogali chandelier was originally designed by a famous Italian architect in the sixties and was recently assembled into this new design by Bulgari architects. The final effect is a shining cascade of glass that recalls the richness of the brand and expounds on Bulgari’s intricate workmanship.

The watches have a dedicated display area with a special watch making counter and are encompassed by a blue silk fabric. A sliding panel in the middle of the counter allows the clients to browse with the installed iPads, thus making it possible for them to also view different models that are not displayed in the showcases.

The new store is decorated with the printed "equity panels" that display heritage images taken from Bulgari’s archives. The B logo with Serpenti watches and bracelets all around as well as the iconic emerald necklaces and ruby pendant images are a source of inspiration to share the brand history with the clients. On top of that, the original drawings of some of the jewellery necklaces will also be displayed on the external rolling blinds to add a touch of heritage and elegance during shop closure.

In celebration of this important occasion, a special edition Bulgari Bulgari white gold pendant with chain and pave diamonds will be presented for sale in a limited quantity of 88 pieces only.

The new design and concept of the Bulgari Takashimaya store fuses both eternity and history while embracing the clients in a mood of pleasurable luxury.

carihk, The BVLGARI signs are above each shop window. I disagree that this could be mistaken for "any store". There is something about Italian design and especially Bulgari design that is......distinctive. It may be cliche to say, "You know it when you se...
