This one doesn’t get out nearly as often as it should.

Only have two Breguets in my collection - this Tradition and a WG Classique.

With the single deployant clasp and straight lugs it wears quite large for its size. The Breguet short strap set makes it wearable for me, but the more recent double deployants that Breguet have been using make strap fitting much easier for my 17.2cm wrist.

On some models with the single deployant I’ve had to go with custom 115/55 sizing to get the deployant to sit well. This also applies to the Pateks in my collection where the short strap sets better accommodate the fit of the single deployant.

I’m always curious as to the thought process of manufactures on strap sizing. JLC never seem to get it right for me - I’ve seen 120/80 on a Duometre Chronograph and similar sizing on the Casa Fagliano straps for some of their Reversos. With deployants there’s way less ability to adjust given the fixed position of one side of the strap on the deployant- regardless of whether it’s a single or double. For me - deployant means a (virtual) trip to a custom strap maker every time!
If I have a choice I pretty much go with a tang buckle on every occasion.

make sure it sees the light of day frequently. Nice watch you have.

Thanks Thomas.

I’ve got to do better job on rotating my collection - too easy to stick with the familiar same old favorites!

Love the Tradition, it all iterations.

Although only the now discontinued (I think) smaller case size works for me due to those lugs. I’m not a fan of deployants generally, I prefer the pin buckle and if given the choice a custom strap which fits my wrist best. Outside of that I generally tend...

Interestingly DeBethune seem to pay attention to this.

The standard strap on my DB25 is 105/70 which reflects the large lug to lug measurements on this model. If you look at the strap configurator on their website you can see that they definitely “get” the fit issues with straps - great job!

I love Breguet Classique/Tradition cases but..

but the lovely long lugs make otherwise reasonable diameter cases unworkable for my 16cm wrists. I finally learned I had to pay attention to lug-to-lug dimensions 38mm 5157 (44.7 lug-lug) proved too big but 38mm Omega Speedy reduced (44mm l-l) and 38mm Bl...

Both of my Breguets have lug to lug measurements significantly north of 50mm

Fortunately my 17.2 cm wrist has a flat top which means that the lugs don’t overhang. Shape of wrist is another variable in the “dark art” of strap sizing!

That’s even before we get to the subject of hole placement!!! 🤣🤣

I’m always amazed by the variation of where different strap makers start the placement at the tail end - as well as the tapering of the width from the lug end - both of which have significant influence on fit.

Absolutely!!!

Definitely deserves wrist time. I also have found that custom and OTC straps often times fit better than the OEM ones.
