My 15202 does not have minute markers next to the date window.

There are at least 3 different 15202 dial styles I have had in my hands over the years that have varied amounts of guilloche squares and different dial markings (font on the original 15202 dial). I have photos of a few different 15202 dials, and none have the markings you mention (not saying yours does not, maybe it is another variation).
In your photo set, if those are in fact 2 different watches, both have 30 squares across. My 15202 is 26. I cannot see white minute marks next to the date window in any of your photos, so I can't tell which is the 15202 by your definition.

The date box has been shifted towards the right on the 16202

I honestly still can’t see that difference in the pics you posted above…

there’s too many pics, so can you circle the area of difference in two of the pics showing a 15202 vs 16202 please?

I had to go look at the photos 2-3 times!

It's hard to see! Those little hash marks blend into the dial at certain angles!

Very easy …

The 15202 has outer ring markers next to the date window and the 16202 does not .

And you have a razor sharp eye! I'll have to pay more attention to how many squares cross the AP Royal Oaks I come across in the future!

My pleasure. Here is a shot of my 15202

Close enough to count the squares across (26) and see there are not white markings for the minutes around the date window. ...

I've decided! I like both the 15202 and the 16202!

They both look fantastic in my eyes. Although, considering the 15202 is discontinued, the 16202 is likely my only option - if I were ever granted the privilege of procuring one!

This!

But I'm no ap expert anyways

As a long time 15202 owner...

I prefer the dial on the 16202. In person, the differences are apparent. And the movement changes are quite welcomed on a modern production timepiece. Thanks for the photos!

Many integrated bracelet watches have come within AP and outside after the 15202

But in my humble opinion, nothing beats this reference, in this segment. Nothing. I have the 5711, but the style of the 15202/16202 and the history is unsurpassed. Perfect in every way imho, in this segment

Awesome you have both pieces!!!

And the elusive 50th anniversary alarm clock I must say the new 16202 is functionally and dimensionally better - but there is a certain charm of the 15202 that is unmistakable. Thanks for sharing! Cheers Peter

Such an icon and a versatile watch

15202 for me.

Both are absolutely marvelous

And its hard to see which is which reference to be honest! Hopefully when/if I get the 16202 I will be more aware of the differences between the two!
