yet so much about what is written about the 5107 is on the topic of its bezel, or the newer model's rounded one. Someone even compared the new rounded bezel to a body part and presented an analogy with voluptuousness and curves, but I digress.
The "whole" of this watch works for me. It feels contemporary, masculine, and has a steely quality to it. I like it quite a bit, I also like its newer version, yet differently. The 5107 feels like it aims to make an understatement, yet still being close to the archetype. The dial has a tremendous quality, and the obus inserts are quietly impressive. I have another Patek that my wife calls the "old man's watch". I don't think that's a quality of the 5107, but I'll have t ask. Maybe I can tell her that the newer model is "voluptuous", and this is well...more Kate Moss like.....maybe not.
