This sandblasted dial is truly superb but why 41mm? 38 or 39mm would have been far better for a dressy watch like this one. The mouvement is a little bit lost in the case and the power reserve is short for today’s standard

What a shame because this VC has a lot of charm.

Best wishes

Pre-SIHH 2018: Vacheron Constantin Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Collection Excellence Platine

Vacheron Constantin expands its Collection Excellence Platine concept with the new Traditionnelle Complete Calendar Collection Excellence Platine . Platinum case is 41mm and houses the automatic Calibre 2460 QCL with 40-hour power reserve. Dial is sandbla...

41 mm

I think the designers at VC urgently need a good ophthalmologist. Have they ever heard and learnt the meaning of RATIO ? Calling the collection Platine was not enough, thay had to mark both the dial and the case. Sad... ...

I think a lot of buyers nowadays want a showpiece, and that doesn't happen at 38mm.

Also, I think Maisons use larger sizes to justify high prices. I can see that happening here since the price is aggressive to say the least, especially for a simple triple calendar, not even an annual calendar. Cheers, John

For me, this “oversize trend” was over but you’re probably right.

I went to Piaget few months ago to try the 900P in 38mm and I talked a little bit with the salesperson. She told me that customers wanted a bigger case which was not consistent with this timepiece but it was the desire of clients 😕 Best wishes Alkiro

Not a perfect match, and yes, details do matter. But still.... Best, Tim ...

Sure there’s like 90 years of wristwatches and you can only have so many unique dial configurations but VC is not demonstrating much inspiration here. Yes the finish probably looks excellent. Okay it’s a 100 piece run for the hardcore VC converted guys. b...

Yes, the dial finish is nice

But wow, I'm frankly disappointed. Starting with the second hand. Vacheron used to have the finest characteristic hands, but those look like items from a lesser brand. The dauphine hour and minutes are not distinctive. The execution of the date windows, a...

That date pointer is a travesty and dominates the dial.

I look at the time multiple times a day. I look at the date maybe once. I hate to be over the top with my comments, but it's just a dumb design choice to effect the date pointer in such a way. John

Funny thing to comment about, but...

I really like the angle of the second photo. I can remember seeing a press release with such an angle. Also, FWIW, as a bigger guy 41mm is a welcome size for me!
