Here are some examples of Piaget watches with television-shape cases from the 1970s.
One is manual wind and the other is automatic wind; both are mechanical movements.
There are variations of decoration and metal colour.
I suspect you have the manual version with the 9P movement because you mentioned only the brand name is seen. An auomatic watch would be marked 'Piaget Automatic'.
Is yours similar?
Yes: a Piaget service centre can receive the watch for assessment of service costs.

bentleyboy, I have nothing specific to add as we cannot "authenticate" the watch that you are looking at. We have no lists of vintage Piaget serial numbers. If it is a Piaget watch from the era, then "Lucky You" since they are not that common. I have only...
