Limelight Dancing Light
Join the dance

Piaget produced a lengthy and elegant press release for the new Limelight Dancing Light watch.
It waxed lyrical about creativity and audacity.
It reminded us of Piaget's heritage of feminine and concept watches complete with secret watches, cuffs and sautoirs.
It traced the recent launches of the Limelight Magic Hour (2007) and Limelight Twice (2009) watches that have become the iconic feminine watches from Piaget..

I decided not to reproduce the press release because you can find it in every other publication and I must admit it reads very nicely indeed!
Instead, I went to the Source of all wise and feminine knowledge.....the current Mrs MTF..... and asked: " 'ere luv, wotcha think about this new Limey watch from Piaget?"
"They introduced it in 2010", I continued, " a round watch in a new concept case with some gem-set motif sweeping around the dial".
"Does that circle of gems dance around the dial then?", she asked.
I had to admit intially to a complete lack of knowledge. "But you are the Piaget forum moderator!", she bemoaned.
I had to peek into my Press Release copy for the right words: " 'ere", I said, "they say the playful design offers an original and daring interpretation of the cherished thematic movement theme with the rhythm of a pas de deux between watchmaking and jewellery". With eyes rolling to the ceiling, she tutted, "So it does dance around the dial....duh...Limelight Dancing Light....geddit?"
I decided to just print the facts:
Three unique models.

Two gem-set versions in white gold or pink gold; with 181 brilliant-cut diamonds (0.2 ct) on a satin bracelet.

The ultimate version is paved with 387 brilliant-cut diamonds (4.9 cts) on a paved white gold bracelet with integrated buckle featuring 552 brilliant-cut diamonds (16.3 cts).

At this point, I muttered something about "ephemeral beauty of an arabesque or a feather-light flight through the air, and encapsulated within a graceful wrist adornment" but the Missus had already left the building!
Ah well, at least, dear Reader, you are still here.................................
Regards,
MTF
PS. So did she like it? Yes: the moving dial motif was a hit but the quartz movement was not.
