Piaget

I think I found my dress watch of choice

I paid the Piaget boutique a visit today to take a hands on look at the Altiplano 38mm.  The very kind and accomodating staff then kindly suggested I take a look at the Atiplano Squelette for something a bit more interesting but still dressy.

Wow!  That was the first impression for me.  Although it is 40mm in size, maybe because the visual focus is on the skeletonized movement, it wears smaller than 40mm if that makes sense.

Its still early days for me for a dress watch but I've toyed around with getting one every now and then.  The downside, I'm also told its a boutique exclusive which means that the moderated final price is very much more than desired.

In any case, I've attched some pics from the net to share what I mean and pictures do it so much more justice than I.

The piece that I held is a tad different than the attached image in that it had black hands and the radiating lines did not match up as well as in the image (maybe photoshoped?).  I also find that the finishing is not as refined as it can be.  The anglage is near non existent (perhaps intended?)and the beveling is also a tad raw.  But even then, there was a tingling as I view the Squelette on my wrist in a mirror.

Perhaps when I am ready and if it becomes a non-boutique exclusive where the final price can be further moderated.

Enjoy.
