The watch was made in 1961, based on the serial number.

watches bearing 5 digit serial numbers were made before 1961, whereas those bearing 6 digit serial numbers were made afterwards? I will probably buy the watch for my wife anyway; I was just looking for some background info because Piaget has never been on...
