I was an avid gamer as a teenager, but haven't played games generally for the last fifteen years.
This franchise was always my firm favorite, but the curious thing is that despite loving the games themselves, I've always loved the artwork even more! I vividly remember, as an impressionable thirteen year old, how moved I was to see this man's drawings, I wondered how someone could elicit such emotional depth with the way he drew people's faces, and especially the eyes.... He, to me, combines a completely idiosyncratic sensibility in utilizing traditional and modern art elements in equal measure to impressive effect, at the same time frequently drawing figures in partially abstract form.... Like you pointed out, the female portraits happen to be my favorite, and that's why I ordered them at the top of the sequence
