Patek Philippe

What are my options?

Ok, so the time has come.

After years of being a spectator, and drooling over the pictures that everyone else has posted of their prized PP's, I've decided to take the plunge.

I've sold the house, car, and all other worldly possessions, sold my girlfriend into slavery, got a loan from Shylock, faked my death and collected the life insurance, burnt my factory to the ground and collected that insurance, stole my mothers credit cards and withdrew all her cash, and finally I'm sitting here with a very sore bum, which I am not willing to go into.

Aside from the obvious fact that I'm looking at some serious jail time, I am looking for advice on buying Patek grand complications.

I plan on using some of the money I obtained while pursuing my aforementioned "business" ventures to go on a little holiday from Australia to Switzerland. More specifically, I am going to Patek in Geneva and I want to know what watches I am limited to buying while being a first timer.

I read in a previous post that in order to buy the more complicated watches from Petak through AD's around the world, you need to have purchased some "lessor" models before acquiring the keys to the door that allows you to purchase the big boys. The example used was that of buying a Ferarri Enzo, where the owner would need to also be the owner of the F40 and/or the F50. However, if I'm going to their main store, does Patek make some concessions and allow first time buyers to obtain more exclusive models then would normally be allowed through their distribution network? I don't want to get my hopes up and start to imagine myself proudly telling random people on the street the time from my 5002 Sky Moon Tourbillion, only to find that this will never eventuate.

While the 5002 is an extreme example, the 5101 has really caught my eye. Am I dreaming? Should I be starting with something like the 5205 black face and working my way up?

While I'd like to get the the 5002, the 5101 would leave me with some much needed funds to pay for my legal bills. And given the list of crimes committed above, they will be long and expensive.

Thanks guys,

Pete
