The beauty of the regular variants of ref. 2524/1

As an echo to my earlier post dedicated to A very special Duo of bespoke Minute Repeaters, I just wanted to show how gorgeous the regular variants of the Patek Philippe Minute Repeater ref. 2524/1 also are.

Here, the slide is not oversized, the hands and indices are not blackened and the dial is not double signed (except for the Gübelin example).

Otherwise, as usual: 34 mm yellow gold case made by Emile Vichet and 12''' manual winding calibre.

It is said that no more than 50 pieces were made of the reference 2524 so photos are extremely rare and precious.

According to Christie's: "Reference 2524/1, successor of reference 2424, was launched in 1955 and made in two versions: one without subsidiary seconds and the repeating mechanism activated by pushing the slide in the band downwards, the second, such as the present watch, with subsidiary seconds and the repeating slide to be pushed upwards. The latter is in fact the rarest variant, the total production number believed to be less than a dozen."
