Patek #3802 Does size matter ?

Please forgive my ignorance but that why I ask this most informed group!
My understanding is that the Calvatra #3802 is 33mm in diameter.
Most modern automatic Pateks of 33mm house a #240 movement.
This particular model, newer version. contains a #315 movement.
First and foremost; the #3802 is in fact 33mm?
That being the case is there any advantage to the larger movement?
