5800 is a weird reference for me

It costs almost as much as a 3700  but is the same size exactly as the 3800 which does not have a sapphire case back and upgraded movement

Is it worth paying the premium for the 5800 ( also many less were sold as it was made for 1 year only)

hard to justify but we are weird mob and will pay premiums for any small difference

Jusyt to confuse even further here is my 3800 - I have a small wrist and wear mainly vintage pieces so I find the 38 mm size perfect

Good luck

Hi Shun, thanks for a fun and interesting comparison -- both looking gorgeous in my view, and nothing wrong with a slightly larger size for a Nautilus, like you can have with the 5711 ;-)

And I do agree -- the current values of the 5800 are *insanely* high, so given that one of my rules is to never buy above MSRP, I'd probably pass on it too! ;-)) PS: I slightly adjusted and rotated the last two pics for everyone to view them better. Cheer...

An ingenious way to test out the size of a watch !

In a paper cut-out and in the metal, the 5800 seems smallish on your wrist. Perhaps if you really like 5800, you could trade your 5711 for the 5800 ?
