I need an advise
Dear members,
I am writing to you hoping that some of you will be able to help me with an issue which has been puzzling me for quite some time.
My brother, who I feel very closely realted to, has several times expressed how much he would like to have an old fashioned watch. Looking at the ads in The Economist we saw some Patek Philippe watches which he found very elegant (who doesn't). When it comes to the style of the watch he does not want yellow gold and prefers a rectangular shape but oval is fine as well.
I would really like to buy him an excellent watch that he can enjoy for many years. I am willing to spend $5.000-8.000 and my question is whether I am able to get a second hand Patek watch for this amount or should I go for a different brand? I have been looking at eBay but I am afraid of buying a fake watch, or at least a damaged one.
