You are very fortunate to have actually tried on the watch. Where did you see this watch? It is a dream watch for me.

And is also a dream watch for me. I tried it on in one of the presentation events that Patek organizes after Baselworld.

but it is quite normal for Basel novelties not to be delivered until later during the year. I am waiting for my 7234R and have not received delivery yet although the 5524Rs have been delivered since July. As Patek have experience in producing salmon dials... 

I agree with you, after considering the experience that Patek has in producing salmon dials in the past, a delay based upon dials does not make sense. But I have heard about this issue from 2 different AD's in Europe. They were each expecting deliveries i... 

I know not of any novelties in the past few years that were introduced in Basel in March and then delivered in April or May. The early ones normally get delivered in July at the earliest. Some even get delivered in the following year. Oh well, I know Pate... 

I ordered it but have not received it yet. Dunno if that's normal or indicative of an issue.

I am sure that Patek will sort things out soon. I look forward to seeing a picture of your watch when you receive yours. The 5270P seems to be a hard watch to get. Congratulations on getting on top of the list for yours.

but perhaps it’s not due to “difficulties” it was the same with the black 5960a. It took more than a year and the watch was actually discontinued at the time the first pieces were delivered. Also we haven’t seen any 5740 yet. And there are other watches t... 

Perhaps it is a marketing tool: how hard to make, how lucky I will be to eventually get this rare and valuable watch. Nonetheless, I think its part of the fun and anticipation for those lucky few who will get one (see I bought into the marketing hype myse...

This was my thought when I read the original post! Still good fun, but take it with a grain of salt.

They know and schefule way in advance of what case is being milled (example), in which metals, on what days and for how long. They would have planned way in advance that so many dials will be nade, so many cases and the movenent they will just take from a... 

I like seeing basel releases which normally holds me over until the start of auction season in November! This is the watch life.

I certainly drank enough of the Patek Kool Aid, which I certainly find very tasty. LOL. I was in Italy a few weeks back. Thierry Stern was in town and paid a visit to the local Patek AD. Thierry and his family had docked their Yacht and were having a drin...

And if you don’t feel it violates anything I am of course really curious to see it it’s the perfect name for their yacht!!!

This batch is probably it on the 5270. No more. The movement will come out in the future in a different case with a new reference number. If anybody wants the 5270P they will be short lived and very scare. Remember the 5970P. Ended the 5970 line and are v... 

I don't think this reference will be out for very long. Maybe a production run of two years then it will be over.

They still haven't done a 5270 in yellow. I would expect that as the final run and maybe another platinum addition.
