Lug Height Question -- 5370 versus others?

 By: Bob L. : December 12th, 2019-15:54
Recently, I traded my 5370 toward a different Patek. It was a difficult decision because, as many here have said, the 5370 is a near perfect watch. The black enamel dial is beautiful, and the movement is stunning. But I could not get the watch to fit me r...

The 5370 is obviously a terrific watch, but if you've had it for a while and were still unconvinced of its size, I think trading it was a legitimate decision...my main question, however, is:

What did you get in return?? At that level of the Patek offering, I'm sure something amazing has landed on your wrist which won't make you miss the 5370 for too long.. Cheers.

I share your exact sentiments

Watches like the 5370P and the 5270R are among my favourite Pateks but they have not fitted well on my smallish wrist (6.5 inches). Let's put it this way - the 39.4mm 5170 wore too large for me! If only the lugs were shorter and curved more inwards.

Hi Bob, I was in the same boat. I have similar wrist size and although the 5370 was my first choice, it was not a good fit... I encoutered the same issues with the 5270P...in the end I am now so happy with the 5160/1G which fit perfectly yet was a rare ha...

I have had similar experiences.

My wrist size is nearly the same as yours and I also found that the lug-to-lug dimension is crucial for how the watch sits and feels on the wrist. My limit is 50 mm for the lug-to-lug dimension. As of 48 mm the lugs need to be strongly downward shaped . I...

I fully share your point of view

I had a 5070 G that I had to let go for funding partly my 3448 but I still think of it as it was fitting my 17cm wrist perfectly in spite of its 42mm diameter. Not only it wasn't looking too big but also it was comfortable on my wrist. As for 5370 I was L...

I’m in the same boat

Thanks for posting; this sort of sizing decision is quite frustrating.

Sorry to hear it wasn’t a comfy fit.

Seems ok. But I found the pin buckle helps to fit my tiny wrist better. I suggest you to try pin buckle with customized strap. ...
