Maintenance service

Dec 14, 2008,20:28 PM

Dear all,

I have my 5970 in the bank vault and do not intend to wear it. I wonder whether I should send it for regular service every 5 years. I was told that watch value would be depreciated after service if it is auctioned. The case may get scratched or polished. Safety is another issue as it has to be sent to Geneva for sevice. I appreacite to have yoour opinion.

Thanks.

Even more so, when they are not used. After all they have a mechanical movement, very similar to a car, you wouldn't park a car up for years and then expect it to start and work normally. Its such a shame that thewatch is IMO not being used for what it wa...

The service people will remove it from the plastic wrapper for service. You will immediately loose at least 15% value off your resale if you do that. I rather keep it in the plastic bag in prestine condition. When you decide to sell it, the buyer will als...
