A quirky old Lady

Gentlemen,

Yesterday, I had the pleasure to make a little photoshoot of the watch that launched my interest in horology: a very rare and quirky PP Gondolo ref.2479R. My great aunt, owner of the watch, kindly took it out from her safe to let me take pics of it, along with my Pateks Gondolo ref.2488J and Golden Ellipse ref.3548J and an Omega Constellation belonging to my uncle. This watch can be seen at the Patek Museum in Geneva and I have never seen other copies of it, which make me guess that it is very rare, perhaps almost unique. It has a true sentimental value for me since in those times where I was a beginner collector, Patek was some kind of unreachable Holy Grail for me. Unfortunately, despite my propositions to buy it and have it restored in Geneva like my two vintage Pateks, my great aunt declined because it recalled her the man who rose her and her mother who wore it a bit after he passed away, which I can understand: my father told me that he would do the same with my watches if something happened to me. Nevertherless, I am still open if she changed her opinion to offer the watch the Patek restoration it deserves ! Don't hesitate to follow me on Instagram (@ds_watch) for more ! Enough talking, let the pictures speak:

Two pictures stolen at the Museum:

Slightly curved, very confortable to wear, with a great presence on the wrist due to the massive Clous de Paris bezel

Yours,

Dan

Dan, Your advantage is that it's a family member so you have registered your "interest", should the Grand Old Lady change her mind about the other grand old lady. It is a small but commanding watch with the Clous de Paris bezel. Good Luck! MTF
