First Patek to be my last watch. Advice wanted.

Hello All, I am considering my first Patek Philippe after loving watches since the late 90s. I have done the Rolex thing, the Omega thing and finally the Breguet thing. I am wanting a Patek to see me through the next 20 years. I have sold off most of my c...

5127 is one of the most balanced and beautiful Patek, it's typical, classic and good money value.

I am lucky enough to have 5107j, 5146p and 5127g in my collection. They are all truly beautiful and true PPs. If I had to choose one, it would be 5127g.

Nautilus ....... ??

Patek has only a few catagories amongst the many watches produce each year, the list you have made surrounds the calatrava category. Over the many years , different models has evolved since. Arent you forgetting the ever so iconic Nautilus ?? Other than i...

Personally, would narrow down.........

Your selection to the 5146 & 5127. These models are two of my favourite Patek Philippe pieces. The question is: Which complication do you prefer? An Annual Calendar or the Calatrava date? Both pieces, imo, are true classics. :)

Or wait for 2014

Interesting... I was thinking of 5146 but wouldn't it take almost a year before any 2014 models reaches dealerships?

Right! Even longer, but why not if it would be awesome piece of art?

I stopped any Patek purchase activity till May 2014... Oh.. Come on, i am still waiting for 5131, but its another story...

I have only 1 patek and it's a 5146. I love the Patek annual calendars. They are so classical, timeless in design (esp 5146). Price wise the annual calendars are pretty good value as they are just a tad higher than a calatrava. Also PP invented the annual...

I do not believe in your case on 175 years

anniversary pieces. I am sure that those will be limited pieces and the most affordable ones difficult to get. When you have no Pateks before, it might be difficult to climb high enough on the list. The current collection has some jewels. Nautilus 5711 is...

Another vote for 5127

"Very Patek" and truly versatile.

"needs to be a daily wearer"

What does it mean to you? Are you a banker, a butcher, a gardener ...? Daily wearer for me must be in "white metal", because of my customers. As long as it is white metal, I am under their radar - at least most of the time :-) Which one have you tried on ...

Thanks!

.

You can't go wrong with a Calatrava or an Annual Calendar

 By: jon_jon : August 3rd, 2013-21:26
I have not seen the new 5227 Calatrava in person, but from the video of Thierry Stern explaining the features of the 5227, it looks like a great modern Calatrava. Having said that, the Annual Calendars are also excellent daily watches, also in the same pr...
