I just recently acquired one I was looking for for some time.

What model? 42 or 44mm? What is your wrist size?

I don’t have a big wrist and I like my watches tighter. This one works great.

I have the same model but blue. I love it. Nice fit. The ceramic is light ant scratch proof.

I like the strap a lot -- looking fwd to more pics!

I think, the watch will be delivered with two different straps: one grey lined rubber strap and one with a Swiss velcro fastening.

I will post some photos once I get my hands on the watch.

It was love at first sight by me also, the only difference is that I saw first the watch personally at my AD. What happened?

I fall in love with Hublot Unico series since they launched the sapphire series.. 

It is bulky, especially on a narrow wrist, but the all sapphire case makes it elegant at the same time. A cool watch, no doubt, cheers, Filip

If I understand correctly, are you the female part of the „Janef duo“?
It's not always easy to tell the two of you apart. 😁

I read a great post from your partner about your Sapphire model. How much you like to wear it (also for cooking!!) and how robust/sturdy the case is.

That would have been my greatest fear, that it would break at the first major impact.

I think your sapphire watch is extremely beautiful and I can only congratulate you on it. A great choice.

The Unico Essential Grey is the first Hublot for me and I've been cautious about the brand until now. On the other hand, the name Biver (who cared about Hublot some years) really is a guarantee of quality and sustainability.

This watch fascinated me so much at first sight that I absolutely HAD to have it. I hope the watch keeps what it promises at first (online) sight. In any case, I am very, very excited!

A very intriguing piece, too.

I have a 16,5-17 cm wrist
and normally not even a problem with a 47 mm Panerai.

My Titanium Grey’s case size is 42 mm, too, with a 52mm lug-to-lug length and 14.5mm thickness.

I think these are the same dimensions as your Blue Ceramic?

My Integral Ceramic Blue 42mm is about 49.3mm lug-to-lug length and 13.8mm case thickness. I am more concerned with wider lug-to-lug length. I’d like to be able to try one on locally before pulling the trigger online.

Never buying a watch without having tried it on my wrist.

Do you have a realistic chance to see it in the flesh in the near future?

There are two Hublot retailers close to me. One retailer does not have any Big Bang Unico 42mm models in stock, but they are able to bring one in from another location for a 20% refundable deposit. I don’t want to go that route.

I am checking with the other retailer.

Does that mean that if they get the watch to be viewed, there is an obligation to take that watch or another watch?
Or would you get the deposit back? This is, what you wrote (“refundable”).

But then what would be the point of this deposit?

Even if it is refundable. And I don’t want to tie up $ like that even if it is on my credit card. I have absolutely no intention of buying the watch from an AD or boutique. I just want to try it on. I have other sources where I purchase watches from. 

You say yourself that you would never buy the watch there. That's exactly what they fear (rightly so).

In fact, it is not an obligation and obviously just a feeling to be created in the customer.

Or they have to make a deposit themselves with the dealer they are asking for the watch?

The Hublot dealer location near me - Bucherer is able to bring the watch in from another one of their locations, yet they still require a refundable deposit. I guess it is policy. I get it!

I also buy many watches at Bucherer (Vienna) and I never had to pay a deposit in my whole life!

But unfortunately it is more and more the case that interesting watches are not in stock and can only be ordered if you actually take them.
What normally is almost impossible because you have to test it on your wrist etc (forget my craziness regarding this special Hublot now 😎)

I am not in a rush. Maybe one of the local Hublot dealers will eventually get a Big Bang Unico 42mm model in stock for me to try on
