In fact, it was already visible on some photos taken last Friday (as can be seen above), just after the new strap was fitted. But I was so captivated by the dial, the hands, etc. that I only noticed it on Sunday afternoon.
Was it there from the start, even before the restoration, without me seeing it and without the Manufacture pointing it out (unlikely), or was it caused by the person who fitted the new strap half an hour after I picked up the watch (more likely, but I prefer not to accuse without being certain)? I unfortunately can’t say for sure, but took the watch back to JLC yesterday and it’s on its way to the Manufacture…
Heartbreaking. Wearing it this weekend was such a profound joy.
Of course, the problem will eventually be fixed; I just have to be patient again. The person at JLC suggested that the boutique might cover all or part of the cost of the necessary repair: I’ll just wait and see. The only thing that matters to me is that the lug is repaired and the watch returned to me as soon as possible.
Best, Emmanuel
