As with the original MoonSwatch, and as a regular Swatch wearer, I’m all in here. Why wouldn’t I be?
I have two MoonSwatch, one Speedy (it used to be two). I like wearing all three of them.
I will note, the MoonSwatch struck up more random conversations than any mechanical watch on my wrist has done. And mostly with folks that would not recognize a Journe, Urwerk or a Romain Gauthier. That’s a good thing.
I’ve also seen numerous MoonSwatch in professional settings. All of those folks can afford a Speedy, and a lot more, but perhaps like with the Apple Watch, or a Golf GTI, sometimes it’s easier to keep the Patek and Porsche out of the office.
Let’s see what this collab actually is. There’s much speculation that it may not be a wristwatch, or if it is it may have more than one mode of wearing.
Remember when the MoonSwatch dropped and on my “long run” that morning I decided to run past the Swatch Store to see what the line was like. 3 hours before opening there was an orderly line of mostly grown men, about 500-600 at least. Swatch Group had pulled a master stroke and fair play to them.
