Don't get me wrong, the 5712 is a really nice moonphase, but the setting gets boring, with Time, for those who want to have an exact moonphase.

For those who can live without this, it is of course not a problem.

using the 'Settings Moonphase' part of the Patek site?  It shows the setting for any specific date there.

Interesting you are relinquishing your 5712 as I am currently awaiting one ay my AD to view.  I have been really taken by that and the 5980 (I like the new 2010 model with the grey dial too!) and feel that one of these is in my near future.

I found another webiste to solve the problem of the moonphase setting, so it was ok, but a bit fastidious to have to do it each time you wear your watch after a while...

I am not saying that I don't love the Naughty Lus...



I even think I will maybe, with a bit of luck, and if money is ok, go on the Nautilus Chrono.

Then, I'd have a manual and an automatic chrono from PP, a dressy, and a sporty one.

The perfect Duo...

But for the moment, I will be happy with my " new " 5070.

You should not have let go this 5712 because you will no longer wear a fine and elegant sport watch.  I understand the attraction you have for its replacement but they do not possibly compare.  Beside it fitted you perfect.
As for the moon settings, part of the fun with watches, is to spend time with and for them as it often enriches knowledge.  Anyway gone it is so be it.

Slowly but surely you will be left with not too much ‘rings’ between us… LOL
