hat you like and that is not refinished, you can send it to Patek for a full servicing. When it returns , the movement will be spanking clean and gorgeous.
To me, the 96 is a better watch as it was made in the 30s ,40s with no machine aiding in every process. It was the time when the watchmaker has to find all sort of solutions to create the watch.
Kiguchi's watch is heavily influenced by Patek Calatrava. It is very nice and well finished. What it lacks is originality and also manual wind. Have you wind a ref 98 before? It winds the same way as Philip Dufour's simplicity. It has the sound as you wind, very fulfilling.
In short, I am not very thrilled with the automatic movement and the design. If we look at Vintage Grand Seiko, it actually also have some resemblance of Vintage Patek but it has been modified to an extent that it becomes Grand Seiko. For Kigichi's watch, it reads Patek Calatrava too directly. Not a plus for me. I would prefer design that says it is from the 30s, 40s or 50s but not directly a brand. Just my thought
