I must say both versions look really appealing on your wrists. It shows the significant difference between looking at this model and the bracelet on a stand-alone basis and during a try.

I think the black one suits you really well indeed smile

Thanks for your feedback Dms, it will be very helpful as there are quite many members here starting to look at it more closely.

Best, Mark

Thanks Mark. [nt]

OMG...After seeing your pics I find it even harder to answer the "black or white" question.

In March I voted for the black version. At that time the white dial didn't appeal to me very much and also, I was eager to add a black dial PP to my collection.
But meanwhile I had the chance to wear the white version several times on my wrist and I have to admit that I pretty much fell in love with the depth of the dial and its variety of color shades.
For me high noon is coming closer as my dealer informed me that the black version is supposed to be delivered to ihm this week or next week. My wallet is filled and I can't wait to finally see both versions next to each other an den my wrist in the metal. Then, a decision has to be made....
I am extremely curious how the 5960 will work for me in conjunction with the 5270. Both watches are 41 mm and pretty high; the 5960 even higher that the perpetual calendar.

I have been going back and forth on this for a while

I own the white and have been very happy but think I may prefer the black dial. I do have the all black platinum already, which is my favorite 5960, but am considering the black steel as I think it has a different look and serves a different purpose. When my AD gets one in I will have a better opportunity to really compare the two versions. My guess is both are fantastic and really there is no wrong choice here.

If you ask the man in the mirror

You can't go wrong here. I have a slight preference for the white. But the black has its charm, too. [nt]

Hi Nico.

Hi remember we spoke about this before.
But back then there was not choice on a black version.
I think the black one looks a bit smaller (definitely a plus)
But the white version has a more vintage look (Daytona style).
Probably I would go for the black.
Cheers
G.

The black one looks much smaller on the wrist....

... it's amazing how the color of the dial changes ones perception.

Honestly, I still have to see the black version, but even though, I think the white has me preference for the reason you mentioned. [nt]

White for me

I have tried both at the Geneva Salon and the black makes the red chrono hand pop even more !

I think WG hand would have Been a better choice IMO since the dial is already quite busy

Anyway the Cream dial is nicer and reminds me of the panda PN6263

I have to try it but the WG version is my fav I think

Ah, now we are talking. Yes, there is something Newmanesque with this 5960A White... [nt]

Newmanesque, Nico? I think a comparison with a Daytona Newman is pretty farfetched.

According to my Impression both watches have nothing, really nothing to do with each other, exept being a chronograph.
Newman dials are matte and lack of colour change and deepness of laquer. 5960A has got this exciting colour of the dial becoming egg-Shell-like or greyish depending on the light. Also the overall design of both watches has nothing to do with each other.
A Daytona Newman is a nice watch indeed but I wouldn´t compare it to a PP or a 5960A.
Btw...I am still impatiently waiting for the live comparison of black and white version. White Version is lying in the drawer of my dealer and we are waing for the black which was due for delivery last Friday. Nothing came! Also Saturday, nothing came. This waiting is making me sick :-( Pls whish me kuck for today or tomorrow.

Newman in the spirit. With the white and black dial layout. And the sporty design. What I meant. Come back to us, please, when you see both of them! [nt]

Exactly my thoughts !

The black minute track with small lumedots against the plain Cream dial... for me the clin d'œil with the PN dial is obvious...
But I might be wrong... although I am not often ( lol )

I can't wait to see a side by side picture of a Dayto Paul Newman and the 5960A... [nt]
