Description

{PRICE DROP}

Reluctantly have decided to part with a rare piece: Vincent Calabrese Transworld in steel (early serial number). Unique travel time display.
Easily 90-95% condition (safe queen).
Dial is hand-textured silver. Very unique - 3D appearance (see pics)

On original Vincent Calabrese leather strap - 95% condition.  Leather Box is a bit tattered (>20years old) - see pic

Vincent Calabrese will be known to Purists as the co-founder of AHCI, inventor of Corum Golden Bridge, Baladin wandering hours, and most recently the Kronos.

The Transworld model is 35mm in size (9.5mm thick) and shows a second/traveller 2nd time zone + date (at 12) and power reserve (at 6 o'clock).
"Home time" is displayed by the dials at 10 o'clock (24-hours display) and at 2 o'clock (minutes display).
Central hands display hours/minutes/seconds at local time.
All functions are SET FROM CROWN! (no pushers).

Asking price is [PRICE DROP] USD$2700 shipped worldwide. Looking to sell or possibly trade towards a Speake-Marin 38mm Piccadilly or Shimoda.

Watch is located in Melbourne Australia (can meet in person for local sale).

This description of Transworld mechanism is from SteveG's Ninanet website: http://www.ninanet.net/watches/others09/Mediums/mvc.html

The setting mechainsm is most interesting; the crown has 2 positions, and pulling it all the way outward sets all 5 indicators in motion (2 hour-hands, 2 minute-hands, and the date wheel). Positioning the crown at the intermediary detent will quick-set the date by turning counterclockwise, and set just the 2 large hands by turning clockwise. By this arrangement one can simply reset the large hands when traveling with no concern whatsoever that the "home time" display will suffer, and it also accomodates the possibiltiy of uneven time zones since the two displays need not be synchronized on the hour!
2nd time zone display is fully independent and can be set to ANY TIME (even 1 minute forward or back of home if desired!).

Help, I did something really crazy!!!
Today I accidentally came across the Hublot Limited Edition Big Bang Unico Essential Grey on the internet. This model is limited to 200 pieces and only available online. I just bought it. It seems I am totally crazy. Because I have not tried the watch and have never seen it live. But I was so mesmer

The weird thing is here!!!
This Corum Bubble X-Ray for sure is my strangest and craziest acquisition so far, I have to confess. And it is really far away from my β€œusual” grails (PC, MR and now a GP Three Bridges which I am hunting). But I simply couldn't resist. Because my watch philosophy has always been to buy what fascinat
